Andrew Lang (1844 – 1912) was a Scots poet, novelist, literary critic, and contributor to the field of anthropology. He is best known as a collector of folk and fairy tales. Preferring romance over realism, he admired their works as well as those of Alexandre Dumas Père, Henry Fielding, William Makepeace Thackeray, fellow Scot Robert Burns and many others. 'Which Was The Foolishest?' is a fairy-tale first published in 1904 as a part of the collection book 'The Brown Fairy Book'. It tells us about two married couples who live in the same villiage. The two husbands are good friends, but their wives constantly quarrel with each other about their husbands. Who is the stupidest? So one day they decide to make a competition...
