The desire to write a book on heaven emerged as the authors began communicating with people of all ages, with differing religious backgrounds and cultures, who have at some point posed the question:

What happens after death?

The purpose of this book is:
• to help people know that there is hope in the midst of death.
• to share how to find that hope.
• to aid people in processing their losses healthfully.

Howard McIlveen, CAPPE certified chaplain specializing in hospital ministry, is the Pastoral Care Coordinator of Vancouver’s Richmond Hospital. Howard has been involved with the cognitively impaired elderly since 1991, working in an inner-city mission and as a congregational minister. He received his B.A. from Queen’s University, Kingston, and his M.Div. from Knox Presbyterian College, Toronto. Howard is the co-author of Full Circle, Spiritual Therapy for the Elderly.

Esther McIlveen has worked as a mentor in an inner-city mission and in several congregations. Writing became a passion while at the University of Alberta. Along with teaching Creative Writing, Esther has been writing for newspapers for the past eight years. Currently, she writes a column, “Here’s Life,” with Richmond News. She is co-founder of the Good Shepherd Drop-In Center, the author of a children’s book, Cotton Candy Chatterbox, and co-author of Time Echoes Softly.
