Women in Prison

Those who are in positions of power and authority over the young and others who are relatively powerless are in especially advantageous, from their point of view, areas in which to act out their conscious or unconscious sadomasochistic fantasies. More than a few summer camp directors and counselors, male and female, seek out these positions and others in which they assume supervisorial powers over young boys and girls because of sexual desires which are highly and explosively sadomasochistic. In this volume of case studies we shall explore a timely and volatile subculture milieu which often attracts the type of sadomasochistically-inclined individuals we have been discussing — specifically, female guards in prisons and detention institutions.
