On a planet named Frandis is the large continent of Traztajor. Set in the great sea, it is divided into eight different countries. Kangalor is the largest of these countries. The population is mostly hardworking, peaceful peasants ruled from Orvain City by an indolent, pleasure-loving Satrup. Zakard Lei, the ruthless and power-seeking leader of the Das Blaazd Society of Thaumaturgery, which is based in the upland sector of Kangalor, rises up against the rest of the country, seeking to enslave and bend the population to his will. The Maj society of Thaumaturgery, led by the respected and phenomenally powerful Zalund Arj, joins with the independent thaumaturges to defend and protect all the people of Kangalor. The Satrup sits in his palace, demanding expensive entertainments while refusing to take any interest in his countrys difficulties. His courageous younger brother, Prince Lomax, joins the generals of the Kangalor Army. On the borderland, at the head of his troops, he defends the country and its citizens with a bloody sword. Courageous agents enter the Das Blaazd territories to send back information about Leis invasion strategies and troop movements, only to be tracked and endangered by Leis murderous counteragents.
