Look inside the book:

All our sins were before the eye of infinite Justice at the cross, and all were laid on the head of Jesus, the Sin-bearer, who, by His death, laid the eternal foundation of forgiveness of sins, in order that the believer, at any moment of his life, at any point in his history, at any stage of his career, from the time at which the hallowed tidings of the gospel fall upon the ear of faith, until the moment in which he steps into the glory, may be able to say, with clearness and decision, without reserve, misgiving, or hesitation, 'Thou hast cast all my sins behind Thy back.' ...We trust he is one of those who, through infinite grace, 'know the things that are freely given them of God;' who know that they have passed from death unto life—that they have eternal life; who enjoy the precious witness of the Spirit; who realize their association with a risen and glorified Head in the heavens, with whom they are linked by the Holy Ghost, who dwells in them; who have found their object in the Person of that blessed One whose finished work is the divine and eternal basis of their salvation and peace; and who are earnestly looking for the blessed moment when Jesus shall come to receive them to Himself, that where He is, they may be also, to go no more out forever.

About Charles Henry Mackintosh, the Author:

However the Lord did not suffer me to take such a thing, but called me into larger service than ever, and blessed be His name, owned the service most manifestly, while at the same time He most graciously passed in upon me far more than enough to meet all my need. ...The American author of a brief obituary remarked that he would not allow his 'thoughts to indulge in fulsome praise (of men) – rather to recognise the grace of God vouchsafed to His servant.' An Australian magazine The Message published this in its pages, 'Now to tell of our beloved and honoured brother Mr Mackintosh's departure to be with Christ.
