The book “Tales with mermaids” is divided into five stories.
“The mermaid’s children” is about a little girl who very much wishes to know the depths of the sea, so she throws herself into the waves, finding the mermaids’ palace, from where she can no longer return to earth.
In “The singer’s wife” a mermaid wants to know earthly life for she is in love with a singer from a fisherman’s village. In return, the boy passes through many challenges to win her heart.
In “God Neptune’s love” the mighty god of the sea falls in love with a mortal from a village. Wanting to attract her attention in order to conquer her heart and take her into the depths with him, he causes many disasters on the ocean, sinking ships and drowning people, but she still would not share his love.
“The three mermaids” describes the life of the ocean nymphs, daughters of the feared god Neptune. By chance, the mermaids arrive aboard a fishing vessel, falling in love with three sailors who love them dearly and wish to have them by their side.
The last story, “Poseidon’s wife”, describes the god’s love for a beautiful mortal woman, who lives in a rich, peaceful and prosperous city. He marries her and together they have five children but she misses her home town and wishes to see it once again, no matter the consequences.
