Strangers on a Train

It was heart-rending. I had finished my meeting with a prospective customer and commuted back to my hometown trying to work a little on the train, but my attention, like everyone else's, was drawn to the young woman sitting on the other side of the aisle. She was averting her face, trying to look out of the window, but she was crying almost incessantly.
