The dictionary defines assertiveness as, "confidently self assured.” That’s a fairly good description of what most of us hope to be, confident and self assured.

The general idea of being assertive is being able to stand up for yourself. It is about upholding who you are. Whether you do it passively or aggressively, the point is you can say what you want to say, you are able to form decisions, you are capable of standing up for those decisions regardless the consequences.

In the process of knowing yourself, the question always becomes: Am I assertive? Am I too assertive? Am I assertive to the point of being aggressive?
