The Bible, through Paul, relates the athletic runner to the human race we run yoked to Yeshua/Jesus, God made manifest in the flesh, who felt the passions and pains of our life when he hung on the cross. Consequently, he understands everything we go through and wants to carry the greater part of our load if we will only let him. The purpose of these devotions is to show his children how to let him. God created mankind to represent him to the world as his image, but we chose to go our own way and corrupt his image. As his children, we are being re-created into the image of his Son.
