Piano and Laylee are neighbor puppies of different breeds growing up in the 21st Century. Laylee is a Bichon Frise who was adopted by a Maltese couple and Piano is a Dachshund born to a Dachshund couple. They have become fast friends who like to play together both outside and online. Laylee is free spirited and Piano steadfast and slightly shy. Their adventures online become experiences from which they learn about the world and digital citizenship. There are five books in the series focusing on the areas of basic internet safety guidelines, learning proper netiquette when using technology, how to handle a cyberbully, respecting the copyrights of others’ work, and understanding acceptable use policies. Through their experiences, their parents and teacher help to guide them in understanding the importance of being good digital citizens. They also learn to identify who their trusted adults are so that they can be empowered, independent learners.
