Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2007 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Kultur, Technik und Völker, Note: 1,0, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (Institut für Soziologie), Veranstaltung: Kultursoziologie, 16 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: At the beginning of the twenty-first century when Simmel first introduced his cultural theory, the meaning of culture was somehow clearly defined as the cultivation of nature by human society. More than a hundred years later we have to look back on some drastic changes in social structures: The rapid evolution of mass media and the growing meaning of economy in all areas are at least two reasons why the scientific view on the cultural topic had to be modified. How economic changes and media influence cultural images and to what extent this means a dynamic process shall be the main topic of this essay.
