Kenny Jones and his childhood friend Jeffry Cree, meet many years later when Kenny, after retiring from a successful footy career, moves to a small town in Victoria's Gippsland, to take up a teaching post at the local Marist College.
Kenny has revealed that he is Gay whilst Jeffry is struggling to admit being a homosexual. His marriage to Cynthia has become a disaster and the pressures building on Jeffry threaten to destroy him.
There is also an undercurrent of tension in the town as rumors spread of local clergy paying aboriginal children for sexual favors. It seems the police are ignoring the rumors and turning a blind eye to these encounters.
Then the whole mess starts to unravel when a young indigenous girl is found raped and strangled. The ensuing investigation reveals the scale of corruption within the police and the Catholic Church.
