Artist, teacher, father, husband, dreamer—a life carved in love, inspiration, and art.

From the moment he entered the world, there was something special about John George Ottewill. Surrounded by love and family, his early years paint a picture of a quintessential life. Unfortunately, by the age of nine, this idyllic life shattered, replaced by loss, heartache, and fear while World War II raged around him.

At eighteen, even though the war was over, he was stationed in Japan with the Royal Air Force. Seeing the aftereffects of the atomic bomb shaped his values and sent him on a journey that landed him in Canada during the Suez Canal crisis. John followed several career paths, but through them all, his passion remained with the arts. His wife, Audrey, shared this vision, and together, with their son, Mike, they created a life rich in adventure, love, and culture.
