The story is about Danny, a teenage boy who has had horrific nightmares every since he was able to dream. His mother has tried her best to help him struggle with this his whole life. Then one day, the worst possible thing happens. He and his mother discover that the awful things that he has been dreaming of are really taking place in the real world.
