Jack London – (Jan 12, 1876 – Nov 22, 1916) American writer and journalist. Born and grown up in California, he tried his luck in Alaska in the time of the Gold Rush, but unsuccessfully. During his writer's career he's written such novels as "Martin Eden", "The White Fang", "The Sea-Wolf", and a lot of magnificent short stories. Jack London's characters test themselves and overcome all sorts of difficulties in severe conditions. In the Gold Rush time the writer was once attacked by a bear, which inspired him to write "Bald-Face".
"The Turtles of Tasman" is collection of short stories by Jack London. All of the stories here have their own subject and narrative, distinctive style and form. But all of them are masterfully crafted and written in London’s rich and living language. This is a gathering of small, but priceless gems of literature that proves that good thing often come in small packages.
