The realization that we are never disconnected as a Human Family was mind-melting for me. Although we are all unique in special ways, we share more commonalities than differences, suggested by our DNA sequencing being 99.5% similar to one another. That is to say, 99.5% of our DNA sequencing is the same as President Obama, Tom Cruise, Babe Ruth, Steve Jobs, Tina Turner, Lady Gaga, Adele, or anyone else we care to mention.

Our brains may be contained within a skull, but we are far from trapped within this cranial vault. Our brains allow connection with other humans, our environment, and ourselves. As humans, we can penetrate the depths of the soul and beyond. The physical properties of us and our brains may need to stay localized for survival, but the spirit and mind which flows within and around us all can go wherever IT wishes.

Brain In A Bulb is a testament to the mind, soul, and spirit shared by all Human Beings. Transcending simple physical structure is the reason I'm writing an e-book on a computer almost as fast as my brain, within a University blossoming with brilliant art, architecture, and devices such as iPhones and iPads that twenty years ago would've been deemed the most powerful supercomputers in the world. We now simply walk around with these devices in our pockets and backpacks. Our collective dreams, visions, and the quest to push beyond what contains and limits us is both the tragedy and triumph of being human. Brain in a Bulb expresses this tragedy and triumph through poetry.
