Blue & Green

Adeline Virginia Woolf was an English writer and one of the foremost modernists of the twentieth century.Her nonlinear, free form prose style inspired her peers and earned her much praise. She was also known for her mood swings and bouts of deep depression. Blue and Green is a short story that includes two different paragraphs. The author describes the blue and green aspects of reality and the feelings associated with them. These two colors are dominant and symbolic throughout Woolf’s short stories. There’s no significant narrative content; the piece is a meditation on the perceptions of color. Woolf specifically focuses on color being experienced in both tangible and intangible forms.
