After driving the bus for many years one of Larry's regular riders asked him if he had ever read The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. He replied that he hadn't. His rider described the book briefly and said "You should, because you are The Fountainhead." Since the central figure in The Fountainhead would rather struggle in obscurity than compromise his principles, Larry concluded the rider made a good assessment.
Over the years, several of Larry's bus riders suggested he write a book about his experiences. After twenty years of driving, Larry felt that the time was right to write.
While many incidents are described throughout this book, the focus is intended to be more on the events that happened to Larry and those in which he has a first person account. The others have been widely circulated and accepted. So every detail may not be exactly as it occurred, but it's the truth to the best of Larry's knowledge. The names have been changed to protect the guilty.
Be forewarned, this is not a politically correct book.
