Ali knows she is going to have a good day—even if she does have to wear her hair in a ponytail! She goes to her friend Patti’s house, and she and Pattie and Lisa play and have a good time. The three girls are playing in the backyard when they see a puppy wandering around. The puppy and Ali are instant friends, and the little dog follows Ali around for the rest of the day. Not long after that, some boys start picking on them around the swing set, but Ali and her friends just ignore them. When the boys return later with water balloons, however, the girls must run away. They split up, and Ali finds herself hiding in the garden of the local haunted house. But when she suddenly falls into an abandoned coal chute, Ali is afraid she may be trapped for good with ghosts nearby. She thinks no one knows where she is—but help is on the way! In this illustrated children’s story, a little girl meets a special puppy and goes on an accidental adventure that brings her a forever friend.
