Andrew Lang was a Scottish prolific author, mostly known as the collector of folk and fairy tales. “Adventures of an Indian Brave” is a fairy tale entered in “The Orange Fairy Book”, that was published in 1906. In the west of America once lives an old man who has a son. The country is covered with forests, where all kinds of wild animals inhabit, and the young man and his companions spend whole days hunting them. One winter morning the young men set off to obtain the mountain goats and deer, and the leader kills most, as he is the best shooter. Returning at the village the youth reaches a great river and leaves his pack on the bank to avoid probable problems with carrying it. Later his old father goes to the river to bring home the pack, but falls in the water and drowns. His body is carried down the stream into quiet water and loses all likeness to a man, and is changed into a piece of wood…
